Feel the "spirit of life" the earth has

Can you feel the "spirit of life" that is all around us in nature? It brings hope and renewal to us. There is warmth and welcome belonging, here on the earth, for us to be a part of.  Kendall paints this in each of his paintings.

Painting "Mystique" has that spirit

In Kendall's  painting  "Mystique",  he invites you to "Come and participate with a wonderful waterfall as it tumbles down and over rocks and boulders. Feel the exciting places with leaves gently floating in pools of water under draping boughs of bushes.  A delightful place filled with magical mystery to enjoy." Life.

Butterfly at Burns Creek

I have painted many beautiful fall paintings. My first one was "Butterfly at Burns Creek"

When the sun comes from behind the leaves at Burns Creek, the colors are intensely rich, bright, and beautiful. If you stand in the shade of the tree trunk, you can look at the leaves without the sun in your eyes. Can you feel the excitement of the stream as it enters from the left? Does the quiet, calm of the stream as it pools in the center bring you peace? Do you long to follow as it exits to the right over a little waterfall, turns the corner, and flows on down the valley? I was pleased that I was able to preserve all the feelings I savored and the panoramic view I experienced while enjoying this back lit scene. You are welcome to linger here with the butterfly at Burns Creek

This was the first painting I was able to get  "painted"  as a Giclee on Canvas with the colors he wanted. There us an orange and black butterfly on the rocks and a big symbolic one in the water with a silver wing and a crimson wing. The big tree in the middle of the painting reflects in the water making the center of the butterfly.

Fresh Morning Sun On Antelope Flats

I have spent many mornings studying the sunrise and absorbing the Creator's gift of the fresh morning sun, which takes over thirty minutes to receive. This GiclĂ©e original portrays this gift in one complete painting. In order to capture the entire experience, I preserved in this painting the sky just as the sun made it come to life while the mountains and the barn were still dark. The sky was full of hope from the morning sun. By the time the sun turned the mountains gold with the morning warmth, the sky had lost its' gift. Just at that time I captured and painted the mountains with all their cool shadows and warm golden light. There was a lone antelope which walked right past me and along the trail behind the barn. As the mountains lost their gift, the sun started to flood across the valley floor; it glimmered off the windows of the barn and lit up the trees and the fence post with its golden glow. In that magical moment, I referenced, and then painted the way they were as the light hit the trees, the barn, the road, and the hills. This instant was the most exciting moment to reference and then paint. I was able to keep and include the hope in the morning sky and the gold burning mountains. I remember and savor this gift. Can you feel the light dancing across the field, beginning to light up the earth? Can you feel the moisture from the dew and the crisp new light feeling of the fresh morning sun on Antelope Flats? Kendall

Cherry Blossoms and Bees

The Gallery owner, also a university art professor, where Kendall had placed his paintings in Jackson Hole Wyoming, was intrigued and excited with Kendall's new painting method.   He suggested that he study Albrecht Durer's (German artist 1471-1528) studies of nature and the painting "The Great Clump of Turf" as he went on to paint more paintings. Kendall explored Durer's works, and he also studied the artist Fredrick Franck's "The Awakened Eye" where he found the feeling they had. They both had a feeling of what real nature is and the beauty of real nature.  Kendall had a desire to paint the same feeling.  He went to find it and found it right up inside a cherry tree.  With incredible detail Kendall painted the tree with warm backlit blossoms on the right, cool shade on the left, and several bees among the blossoms. Through one of the bubble bee's shear wing you can see a blossom.

Take some time to enjoy this painting of "Cherry Blossoms and Bees" as you anxiously await spring.
